                                                    Meeting Notes

Hot Springs R C Flying Club

                                                     2 Feb 2010

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by the club president.  Fourteen members were present.

The secretary was out of town so the minutes of the last meeting were not read.

The treasurer reported that the club account had $3157.29. The annual service fee for the porta potty  of $548.25 has been paid. The balance includes the $1500 lawnmower fund set aside approved in 2009. There was discussion of a similar set aside in 2010 but not acted upon. Glen moved the report be approved. Ron seconded and the motion was approved

Old Business

Mike Harrison brought up the idea of a continuing need to coordinate with the county and the park personnel to assure that we are all working together. Discussion followed and the fact that Steve Stephen had worked closely with the pars folks recently and that need to continue with the new secretary. The idea of announcing meetings on channel 5 and in the paper was discussed and considered a good idea.

The discussion of fill dirt, top soil or compost to fill ruts and the ditch continued. Mike volunteered to check with the county to see if we could get a load at no or minimal cost. Glen mentioned that he might have a source for fill that would work in the ditch but that it was too rocky for smoother areas.

Larry volunteered to fertilize the grass in front of the pavilion, alon each side of the runway and out the approaches at the appropriate time in the spring.

New Business

Meeting schedule was discussed for 2010. Larry moved that meetings be every other month or at the call of the president as needed. Trent seconded. The motion was approved. Larry pointed out that the club had the meeting room reserved for the first Tuesday of each month and that if we were not going to use it we must give the library s a weeks notice. Failure to do so could result in loss of the room. The president will establish the meeting schedule and have it published.

The club officers met in January and proposed the following 2010 event schedule.

Spa City fly in—19-20 June

Fun fly and picnic –10 July

Open house fly  in—late August or early September

Scale fly in—October2-3

Christmas party—December

Work days – April, June and October

This program was discussed and no objections were expressed. The Spa City Flyin was locked in and Larry as the CD will apply for the AMA sanction.

The 2010 mowing schedule will be worked out and published by the Officers.

The meeting adjourned At 7:00 PM.
